Description

Werewolf is a party game that's best with at least 7 players. You must supply your own friends—THIS GAME CANNOT BE PLAYED SOLITAIRE. However, you only need one copy of the program and a single iPhone or iPod touch for the entire party!

It's a Full Moon

Gather your friends—but not too closely—because Werewolves can look friendly in the light of day. If you've played the bluffing/party game Werewolf (or the similar game Mafia), then you should check out the extra fun you and your friends can have with this iPhone / iPod touch version. If you've never played the party game, prepare for a roller coaster ride of excitement, suspense, and intrigue.

Yours was a peaceful village until you discovered evidence of Werewolves. Now paranoia runs rampant and everyone wants to find someone to blame. During each "nighttime" phase of the game, players will perform secret actions. Then, during each "daytime" phase, they'll try to figure out who the Werewolves are. Will they mistakenly lynch an innocent villager while the Werewolves smile to themselves? It's mob rule at its finest. And each time the sun goes down, the Werewolves will claim another victim. Your goal? Stay alive!

Features

• Player names and photos pulled directly from your contact list.

• Optional special characters like the Seer, the Vigilante, the Protector, and the Innocent Lovers.

• Supports setups in which the number of Werewolves and the included special characters are uncertain at the outset.

• Villager passwords to prevent anyone from seeing your secret role.

• Timed rounds with warning bells as the round-end approaches.

• An emailable post-game report that describes what everyone did on each turn.

Could use an update, but worth the $1

I used the "lite" version of werewolf for a long time and never felt like i was missing out on anything. I was wrong. The full version has settings that prevent what might otherwise turn into a sour experience. If you want to be sure five people are satisfied for example get this one instead of lite because then you can have just one werewolf. Addressing the Contacts usage: since the advent of iCloud contacts, facebook contact merging and whatnot, having everyone's names is not a hassle like some people say it is. The first time i was introduced to rhe game in fact my friend said "this will be a good excuse for me to get everyone's contact information" Hey look! A game that doesn't let you be anti-social! It could stand to be updated. All my contacts show up twice or thrice if i have multiple phone numbers for them, but really that has nothing to do with the game itself.

Great Game

Allows a lower number of players than the card game which requires 8. Password feature is mildly annoying as it doesn't remember passwords of players during multiple games in the same session. Option to turn off passwords would be nice, using a stars pass and click when ready check. Also the game defaults to a tournement mode. Players killed won't automatically join the next game, you must manually add them. Option to turn this off would be nice. Game does not use the "sheriff" rule, in which an elected sheriff gets two votes. All in all though a deal and must buy at the price.

Creativity is fun too

Umm, this actually CAN be played solitare, if you want to be creative (or if you're really bored.) me and my friends always use random contacts and play a game by ourselves picking random people to attack and stuff, then we email the post game report and stuff but we change it, like instead of werewolf we put Voldemort, instead of protecter we put Dumbledore, stuff like that. We use a bunch of books and movies and translate them into a game of werewolf.
Oh, and the game is really fun at parties too.
