I'm the guy that couldn't settle in on a To Do list app... until Wunderlist

I have a tendency to discover a To Do list app that looks like it is right down my alley only to discover it didn't quit fit the bill. I probably have 10 To Do List apps half started because of what appeared to be a quest destined to never find fortune. There won't be any more quests however with my discovery of Wunderlist. Simple, syncs nicely with Calendar, Sub-folders, email one To Do or them all, Flag important, Set reminders, clean user interface and more. It's like a nap on 1000 thread count sheets with your head buried in a cool pillow and all you hear is the faint sound of a lawn mower, outside the balcony doors that are attempting to maintain a stunning view of the ocean while trying to hold on to the shear drapes dancing in the breeze of an 80 degree sunny July day, oh... and of course Wunderlist took care of helping you sort your schedule to make it all possible. ;)

Pretty good but Flawed

I’ve tried so many to-do and list apps, and this one comes close, but frustratingly fails in many ways. The good: sharing with others is easy, the sync works, the animations are nice.

Extremely weak area is search: you cannot filter within a list and have to back out to do so. Combine this with the fact that although there’s a Sort feature, it doesn’t sort completed items (why???). So now let’s say you want to find an old item to uncheck it, like in a grocery list. “Did I buy milk before?” “Let me back out of Groceries and search” “Oh, there it is, uncheck it because I need it again.” “Did I buy zucchini?” Go out, search again, no hit. Have to go back into list and add it.

Bad workflows like this make you wonder if they use their own app. Paperless on iOS has this experience 100% figured out, just copy it. But unfortunately it doesn’t do shared lists, so I’ll be still using Wunderlist for now. Leaving this review in hopes they improve.

Wunderlist is Wunderful

Great app. Use it throughout the day to keep track of all the tasks and “open loops” i need to take care of. Particularly appealing due to how quick it is to enter and organize your tasks. No need for several steps in order to get enter a new task. Just click once and type then press enter. I Also like the drag-and-drop capability to rearrange your tasks into various categories. This is particularly useful when you want to move a task into an “awaiting for a response” folder after completing an email or leaving a phone message so that you can keep track of tasks which may require someone to respond in order to “close the loop.” Never had an issue with losing tasks. have been using this app for nearly one year now. Haven’t really used the reminder options so I can’t comment on that aspect of the app.
