Works great if you have it setup correctly

This is very specific software. If you don’t have a Milestone server properly setup with access to and from the internet then this app is not for you.
If you DO have the above mentioned server this works great and is the only way to go in my mind.
Truth be told, the Milestone product line was not my first choice. I wanted “open source” and Linux based.
Bah, that equated to “better be a Linux expert” and know the intricate in’s and out’s of all the subject matter. Through a lot of trial and error my choices limited themselves down to this very fine product. Milestone got me up and running with 8 devices for free in just a day or two. Versus the couple of weeks I’d already spent on the aforementioned Linux Open source options.

Menu bars in the way

There was a review on July 11 about this with no developer response. This is unusual because it’s kind of a problem and has been this way ever since Milestone mobile was initially released. The top and bottom nav bar essentially cuts off about a half inch of video, and that half-inch of video on the mobile screen is about a fifth of what we’re looking at. The only way to see the entire camera is to pinch zoom the image out. There’s no way to get the menu Bars to disappear or to change them to transparent, so they just sit in the way blocking a good portion of the image of the camera. Milestone do we have any feedback on this?

Apologies if we missed any previous comments and thanks for your feedback.

With regards to your comment, there is an auto-hide option in the settings, which when turned on, hides the bottom menu bar and reveals more working area. This option is not available for the bottom bar however.

New update crashes

Finally works again. Note to everyone. Not only do you have to update the app. The mobile server on the computer also needs updated software. Not giving 5 stars because the tech support process was horrible. No communications with customers or the dealers who handle the onsite tech support. Nobody knew anything on how to fix these issues.

Thanks again for replying. In addition to updating to 11.3c, did you also update to/ confirm that your XProtect Mobile Server is running 2017 R3?

Please ensure the above is confirmed; if further problems persist, it is possible that the root cause stems from a recently identified connectivity issue, for which Milestone Developers are working on an expedited fix.

I noticed that your comment “new version also crashes” is listed against 11.3b of the Milestone Mobile app- please update to the latest version, 11.3c, in which we have fixed many issues this version is designed to work most effectively with iOS 11, so please also update this accordingly (if applicable).

Please also ensure you are running Mobile Server to 2017 R3– this is independent of the core license, hence your XProtect version/ SLC will not be affected/ restrict your ability to update.

You can also enable iOS logging on your device, in order for our Developers to receive live information on the app’s behavior and to enable the fastest and most effective resolution to any reported issues, please enable automatic logging on your device.

Enable the logging feature from your device, via: Settings -> Privacy -> Analytics -> turn on Share iPhone Analytics and Share With App Developers.
