What's New in Version 11.4.0
You know that feeling when you can't even because brunch looks so good? Now you CAN even. Introducing: Check-in Photos! No, really — take a photo, add a selfie, and share those moments when you check into a business on Yelp. #yelfie
This app is nothing but lies.
5 stars so this could reach the top of the list. This app is pure poison, I downloaded this app thinking it's a place where you can express you're most honest opinion and share tips and advice among others to help each other out..Wrong. I've only had this app for 1 day and I can see how this app has destroyed innocent businesses and has damaged their reputation all because of some little cry baby didn't get exactly 4 ice cubes in their Diet Coke. I wanted to be apart of this community and just help out people who were curious about certain places, within just 30 minutes of using this app all I see is bad review after bad review even in places I know aren't bad because I been there myself. This app is nothing but a place for bickering cry babies who don't get exactly what they want and how they want it so they go cry and vent out their feelings through an app. You're not a good critic, you're just a kid with an iPhone. For anybody downloading this app, take everything you read with a grain of salt, because Yelp is a business and like all other businesses they require income to function. I'm disappointed that something that can actually hurt innocent people's paychecks exist. I get that there are actual bad places but for some reason good ones get the bad rep. Want to know how good that pizza restaurant is down your street? I got a better idea! Go There.....🤔
Good app but hate the new features
I have been a devoted yelper since I first found out about yelp and joined years ago. Been elite before and lost elite status which makes me sad. But hopefully will be back on elite team again. Anyways, I use yelp for all my reviews, food ventures, recommendations. I think it's one of the best platforms to find a good eats. Unlike its counter parts, swarm, 4squares, Yelp is more user friendly and has more reviewership to make the businesses/restaurants in question count. I look not only at the star rating but the amount of people who review a place before deciding if I wanna go eat there too. So for that yelp is very useful. I also love that a check in with yelp gives me a freebie at some places. That's a good bonus that other reviewing apps don't offer. Next as a reviewer I loved that I can give my two sense about a place and having my opinion count and be helpful to another diner looking for good eats. But the new features that yelp app added really making me upset such as the selfie photo in food feature or the selfie checkin feature. Whomever thought that was a good idea totally has no clue that is a horrible idea. Sorry if I wanted to feature myself with my food, I would just take such a photo and post it in with my reviews. Please take out or turn off that annoying feature please. Otherwise yelp app would had gotten 5 stars.
It's not just the app, it's the people.
I always use Yelp as my "go-to". When I'm in any area around the world, I use it to find good places to try out, explore, and hopefully check in with good feedback. It's up to the people to write what they believe needs to be said about any business they encounter. It's called freedom of speech and the power of opinion. I don't judge a business on the amount of stars it may have or everyone's single minded opinion. You must take your time to read through each to know what the pros or cons could be and steer clear of the negative opinions, as most are just bad experiences. Depending on how the business takes its criticism and responds, I believe is what changes the outlook of others and could cause the business to fail or progress positively. I love yelp and will never use another app as I believe first hand experience is what we all look for. Not just filtered reviews to make a place "look good". Also, when it comes to "competition", get over it people. It's part of the REAL WORLD. There are always going to be competitors in life, so either brush it off and focus on success or sit and complain and have people not even want to support your business. The world is in your hands, mold it to your benefit.
