Photos have iPhoto. Music has iTunes. But when it comes to PDFs and other office documents, you're on your own. That is, until now. Now there is Yep and there's no looking back.

Start Yep for the first time and it automatically shows you all your PDFs, iWork and Office documents. The strength in Yep is being able to see your documents and search through them with out needing to worry where exactly you saved it to. Add your own tags to documents - which is like storing them in two places at once. Yep also has the ability to automatically file documents into a simple date based folder system located in your Documents folder. The result is that its easy to keep a running track record of receipts, invoices, research papers - without having to think about where to store it.
Has a built in scanning interface optimized for documents.
Updates for latest Xcode, fixed a bug where a warning about Spotlight could appear in error, dragging fixes.

I’ve had this a long time, but only recently started REALLY using it. It’s like any other great software, you MUST take the time to learn how to use it, but once you do, it really is like iTunes for your documents. I admit, I don’t use it for any images, I use Adobe Bridge, because of the sheer volume of them, but for MSOfc, Libre Office, iWork and especially PDF files, of which I have TONS of (sending image proofs!), this works exactly as advertised.
If you’re wondering if it’s worth the price, yes, but I cannot stress enough, you have to take the time in learning how to use it. Just like Word, or Photoshop, it has a lot of features, and knowing these when you begin makes it so much more useable. It catalogs everything, and though it could use some more in-depth search capabilities, once it’s cataloged everything searches are pretty quick! Being on an 8 year old iMac, I’m curious how fast it would be on the newer machines!
So if you’re working with a ton of office docs and PDF’s, this will definetly help you keep track of what you have.
My digital filing cabinet
I’ve been using Yep since 2011 and it manages every document I’ve ever received - thousands!. To make it easier should anything ever go wrong, I have them stored in directories based on the month of receipt but I never have to go searching.
Using Yep’s tagging system I can quickly find any document I’m searching for, which comes in really handy at tax time! I honestly don’t want to think about how stressed I would be without this application.
Great app, needs just a little work
Allows organizing by tags, easy to tag & modify tags applied, easy to see which tags already exist for applying to new documents. It is easy to move files from inside app including being able to select multiple documents from different locations and moving them all to together. Easily found all attached scanners including automatic document feeder on multifunction machine. I use it for all sorts of documents to collect related information together. There is also a Description section for adding any kind of notes about a document.
Would like to be able to add scans together since I may find information that relates to a previous scan.
The one thing I don't like is that any new scans are automatically filed into separate folders by day of the month, would rather have an option to put them all into one folder. But at least there are existing bookmarks that make it easy to select all newly scanned documents and move to where I want them.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
