Every run becomes a mission where you’re the hero, with our immersive audio drama putting you at the centre of your very own zombie adventure story. While you run to the perfect mix of heart-pumping audio drama and pulse-pounding songs from your own playlist, you’ll collect supplies to grow your base back home.

Hundreds of lives are counting on you. You’ve got to rebuild your base from a few shivering survivors into a fortified beacon of civilization by collecting critical supplies and avoiding roving zombie hordes. Can you save them and learn the truth about the zombie apocalypse?

You become the hero in an epic story of humanity’s struggle for survival where your running really matters, and there’s a deeper mystery to be uncovered as well. Play the first four missions for free and unlock one extra mission every week.

Unlock 240+ story missions for unlimited play, plus Interval Training and Airdrop Mode.

Choose your own custom playlists: the story unfolds in between your tracks through a series of dynamic radio messages and voice recordings.

Saving the world not exciting enough? When you hear zombies on your six, it’s time to speed up. Can you escape every mob or will you have to drop some of your hard-earned supplies to distract them?

Every time you run, you’ll automatically collect vital supplies like medicine and ammo. Use supplies to build your very own post-apocalypse community. Do you strengthen your defences against the zombies or build a new farm? Share the results with your friends and find out who can make the brightest future for humanity.

Better than the Walking Dead

When I originally downloaded this app, my expectation was that the story was going to be crap but whatever it's just an excuse to exercise. No! The writing and voice acting for this series is tight. I've seen both the Walking Dead TV series and comics and neither are as engaging as what's attached to this app. Because of the way the medium allows for a more limited perspective, the plot manages to take some actually suprising left turns, and by vitue of having fewer to devolope the characters end up feeling a lot more fleshed out. I have definitely gone for more walks since downloading this simply because I wanted to hear what Sam and Janine were up to; they're just pleasant to be around. The fact that the dialogue is woven into long stretches of silent (well, musical) walking means that the game can tell very short and simple stories but pace them like longer episodes; some of my favorite episodes have just been the characters shooting the breeze. And the exclusively audiatory nature of the presentation means they have a lot more flexibility with the ideas they can express on a small budget.

The mechanical aspects of the game work relatively fine; I'm sure others will talk about that. But I just wanted to point out that this isn't just a good game; this is a good SHOW. Although this is the only good show that if you do too much bingewatching your feet will start bleeding...

Makes running fun! Still has some bugs though

Let me start by saying I've used this app for a couple of years now. I used to hate running, and now I'm addicted. This app is entertaining! It works best for outdoor runs, however you can also use a treadmill (there are no zombie chases on the treadmill, however, just the story line).

My only gripe is that sometimes the app crashes right in the middle of my run. It's very frustrating because the timer will keep going, but the music will just stop playing. When I try pausing and replaying, the whole thing will just freeze up. The worst part is when I'm close to the end of a mission, lose all my stats/progress for that mission, and have to basically re-do the entire mission in order to progress in the game. I've had to replay 45 minutes of a 60-minute story just to keep progressing in the game.

Other than those occasional frustrating days, I really love this app and recommend anyone try it if they want something entertaining to do while running.

Gives me chills

I've been using this app infrequently for about two years-- I used it for awhile and then fell out of the habit, then used it again, then forgot about it again. Recently though I've been training for a half marathon and my typical methods of entertaining myself during a run have, well, run dry. So I decided to get this app again.

I don't think anything has changed, but I love the app now. I find the stories fascinating and funny, I enjoy getting to know the characters, and I am excitedly building my base.

Today, for the first time, I had the zombie chases on, and since I was running before dawn it was dark when my first chase occurred. It really spooked me, and I dead sprinted until the chase was up. It made my legs break out in goosebumps. Definitely a creepy experience.

Ever think about creating a Garmin app? I would love to be able to still log runs even when I'm without my phone. Also, I would LOVE it if I could personalize my runner 5. Just basic things, like that I'm a girl, and that I'm blonde or something that would be acknowledged by Sam and the other characters to give my runs a little more of a personal experience. Otherwise, I'm a very happy camper!

Thanks for such a quality experience!
