About Rollins Band

After pioneering California hardcore band Black Flag broke up in 1986, singer Henry Rollins moved on to the Rollins Band, whose debut album, Life Time was released the following year. The band's sound was more metal-influenced than Black Flag, and the combination of their heavy-hitting approach with Rollins' shout-singing style proved influential to '90s nu metal artists. While simultaneously maintaining an active spoken-word career, Rollins kept various lineups of the band going through 2003, reuniting briefly with the classic mid-'90s lineup in 2006.
