About Catherine Collard

Catherine Collard was a French classical pianist whose specialties included Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy, and Franz Joseph Haydn. Some of her Schumann performances from the 1970s were compiled for reissue by the labels Erato Disques and Apex. In the wake of Collard's death on October 10, 1993, the label Ina compiled a collection titled Les Jeunes Années (1998) comprised of Bach, Liszt, Schoenberg, Ravel, Debussy, Franck, Messiaen, and Amy performances. In addition, the label Lyrinx compiled a three-volume collection of her Haydn performances, Haydn: Sonates Pour Piano, Vols. 1-3 (1998). ~ Jason Birchmeier
