Singer-songwriter Farina became the second Colombian artist signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label after Shakira. She rose to fame as a contestant on The X Factor in 2005, and released her debut record, the dancehall-centric Yo Soy Farina the following year. In 2011 she embarked on a successful career in acting, and in 2017, she signed to Roc Nation and began work on Mejor Que Yo, with production help from Wyclef Jean. In 2021 she teamed with Maluma on "Asi Asi" and Arcangel on "La Boca." Both charted, as did 2022's "Soy Mama" remix with Insuperable and Yailin la Mas Viral. 2023's "El Vibe," with reggae crooner Sean Paul, hit airplay lists across Latin America. In March 2024, "Dora" a collaboration with rapper El Alfa, rang up dance play in the Americas and Western Europe.
