Undeterred at her exit from Indonesian Idol in 2005, Monita Tahalea instead took a diverse musical path which saw her plunge her delicate voice deep into pools of jazz, folk and soul. The Jakarta-born songwriter began with an overtly poppy sound on 2010 debut Dream, Hope & Faith, but then drifted towards more misty arrangements adorned with electronic flourishes. Her haunting vocals float gently along wispy acoustics of “Sesaat Yang Abadi” but also bounce atop calming melodies of “Tapak Hening”, showing her knack for crafting comforting harmonies with a soft but sure touch.
