In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I learned a string instrument in primary school. It taught me to have an ear for form and harmony, but more importantly, growing with an instrument showed me just how important it is to hone your skills and be critical about what you're hearing. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Kelela, Raven SOPHIE, Product Sade, Stronger Than Pride I adore the vocal performances and production on all these albums. Sade is a standout on every record, but Stronger Than Pride holds a special place in my heart. Raven was my 2023 album of the year. Sophie was and is a revolution in the truest sense. Tell us why you chose this song. “Restless Energy” This track captures the essence of my project so effortlessly that I still listen to it whenever I'm thinking of starting a new record. It's both complex and dance-able in my favorite way. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Going on tour for the first time was a really liberating experience for me. I remember every set that I've played, but my favorite was one Friday night in San Francisco, when I filled the room by drawing strangers in off the street as I was closing. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to be able to travel internationally to tour new music, and I want to push my craft as much as possible.
