Avril in this song is so good and i love the way she portrays alice it's a definant must for people who like avril.
10/10 for me yay!

What a pleasant surprise!

This is a very different step that Avril Lavigne has taken, and I'm loving it! I think it's great that she's said no to autotune and over-production - the rawness of her vocals gives the song a defiant angsty edge to it! This is definately a welcome return to one of the industry's real talents.

Return to form

It's great to hear Avril back with the sound that made Under My Skin her best CD. As a songwriter, lyrically I can find her a little simplistic, but with this song, every aspect does well in capturing the themes and atmosphere from Alice perfectly. Avril set out to write a song to represent the movie in a fashion, and she did.

People say she sounds like she's in pain. I agree, thats kind of why it works. Consider the story of Alice in Wonderland. The raw emotion Avril portrays in this song is exactly as it needed to be. It all sounds very basic, and light for production values over Avril's vocals, which brings you down the rabbit hole with the rough, lonely and lost sound that results.

Vocally, it definately sounds like Avril has matured greatly, smoothing out some of the more rougher edges to her voice.

Not her greatest, but definately better than anything from Best Damn Thing... Please, don't give us another 'Girlfriend'!

Lavigne, who was 17 at the time, quickly rose to teen idol status, selling several million copies of her debut album, Let Go (the best-selling album by a female artist in 2002), while inspiring a genuine fashion craze with her penchant for tank tops and neckties. As the decade progressed, so...
