these guys completely rule, so looking forward to this detonating my eardrums - dz u da sausage to my sandwich

Sensational Sophomore

A massive congrats to the duo from Brisbane, Australia. Their second full length album has lived up to and now surpassed the impressive debut the lads released in 2012. Black Rat has a fantastic mix of heavy riffs and melodic beats. Grunge meets new age alternative indie, with a heavy taste to it. As a big DZ DEATHRAYS fan I had high expectations for this second album and I am pleased to say I am very happy with the outcome. This is an album I know I am going to listen and relisten to. Every track appeals to me in different dynamic ways. Thanks again to the DZ boys for creating such great tunes to sustain my love of real music. If you're a fan of dz, do yourself a favour and check out these bands also - Violent Soho, Dune Rats, The Arrows and Lunatics on Pogosticks

mother of god

Getting smashed by dz deathray flavoured guitar riffs is something you will not dodge in this album. LOVING BRISBANE TUNES. Good work dudes

Formed: 2008 in Brisbane, Australia

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Word soon got out and they grew to the rock club circuit, releasing their debut EP, Ruined My Life, early the following year....
