Album Review

The soundtrack to Mel Gibson's 1995 multi-Oscar winning tale about 13th century Scottish knight Sir William Wallace, Braveheart is one of James Horner's most critically acclaimed film scores. Nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA, and Golden Globe, the 18 instrumental pieces, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, draw heavily on Celtic/Scottish influences, and feature bagpipes, atmospheric flutes, and bodhran drums to create several authentic, melancholic, and emotionally stirring symphonies. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

Inspirational Music

I believe in order to produce an inspiring firm; you need music that is also inspiring and moving. This soundtrack has to be James Horner’s best work. The depth of the music can really stir emotion and thought. It too tells a story.

Brilliant!!

James Horner has found the perfect match between scottish and orchestral instruments. The soundtrack is incredibly moving and can still inspire even without seeing the action or dialogue in the movie. Truly James Horners best work and a must have for all movie soundtrack buffs. Track 2, 17 and 18 are brilliant. Best work he's done to date, don't retire any time soon.

"Epic"

The word "epic" is overused, but it applies here. The movie tends to make me cry like a little girl, I'm not ashamed to say it. I realized that was mostly just due to the soundtrack, so I bought this album just recently. It's as amazing as I remember from the movie.
It stirs emotion. The strings and pipes work beautifully together. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you buy this music - it's well worth the price.
