Takes Me Back

I loved these guys and I didn't play in the band (eh Alistair ;) ) My first recollection of them was the vid for change in mood on countdown with molly creaming himself over just ran out and bought myself a Roland SH101. 20 odd years later I'm still banging away on the keys believing that there is a possibility of the new wave vibe to come back.....Ahhh the days in the old Valiant with this cassette playing....GET IT

Aaaahhhhh....the good old times!

I was in high school when these guys did this album and I loved it! I bought it on cassette tape (showing age signs now!) and played it to death. I was so excited when I found it on iTunes. Listening to it again, I really like that it doesn't fit with the mainstream drone that we're subjected to at the moment. And these dudes are Australian! I think my least fav was Change in Mood, but even that's ok. Love the remixes. I suppose if anyone finds their way to this album it will probably be out of nostalgia...shame really, it's good music. :-)

Youth in Music

Listening to this I felt like a teenager again and was smiling from ear to ear. Many magical moments were experienced to this music and it is still as good as it was back then. It's a pity they didn't do much more than this album, however I am over the moon with this album!!!!

Australian band Kids in the Kitchen exemplified the '80s sound: well-packaged funk and dance-pop characterized by synth sounds and smooth production. Mushroom's White label signed up the fledgling band after they had been together for only eight months. Their first two singles were an immediate success: "Change in Mood"/"Far From Where" (October 1983) and "Bitter Desire"/"Hunting and Haunting" (April 1984) both hit the national Top Ten. In 1984, the Kids in the Kitchen lineup was reshuffled extensively...
