With strong songs built around Bjork Gudmundsdottir's piercing, striking voice, this record lived up to all the advance hype. With songs like "Birthday" and "Motorcrash," this is the perfect introduction to the 'Cubes.

Best of Bjork (The early The Sugarcube Years)

"Birthday" is indicative of what was to come out of this Indie Icelandic band, and more of an preview of what the world would soon come to know as Bjork. The elfin songstress with the incredible vocal range terrorises her way through Birthday with a haunting melancholy that seems "experienced", but dangerously beautiful at the same time. One of my favourite songs of all time.
