Album Review

Rising above the pure East-meets-West cliché of the concept for Celtic Ragas, sarod player Chinmaya Dunster and guitarist Vidroha Jamie combined for several tracks of textured, contemplative music — softly yet nimbly played and never indicative of the new age pap so often heard on projects like these. The songs are based either on traditionally Indian or Celtic forms; best are the Indian forms, like the continual hints of raga present on the showpiece, "The Goddess."

Customer Reviews

It's not just 'The Goddess'

Mists of Ruantallain, Tara, At the Edge of the Known World & A Gypsy Tale are all pretty good too
