iTunes Review

After perfecting their rough-and-ready DIY sound, Toronto indie rockers Metric took a leap into the waters of polished, radio-ready pop with this fourth studio album, and proved themselves masters of their new craft. On songs like the relentless "Help I'm Alive", singer Emily Haines sounds sassier and sweeter than ever. The darkly buzzing synthesizers on the driving "Gold Guns Girls" evoke '80s greats like Missing Persons and The Cars, even as Metric carve out a sound that's unmistakably their own.

Herd them on Triple J, fell in love with 'Help im Alive', (and just quietly Emily's voice) and picked up the album. Its one of the few this year I played all the way through, and more than once. To quote an old saying " all killer, no filler".
