Amazing, mesmerising and truly captivating

About Tania de Jong

Tania de Jong is a multi-talented woman. Alongside her singing career, she has developed into an entrepreneur who believes in helping others become more creative and innovative, whether they are individuals on the edges of society or global companies.

De Jong earned degrees in opera and voice (soprano) at the Victorian College of the Arts and in law at the University of Melbourne. In 1987, she founded the vocal ensemble Pot-Pourri, which makes musical theater and opera accessible to all types of audiences. Between 1995 and 2012, de Jong and Pot-Pourri had released seven discs and formed a secondary group, the Warbles, specifically for children's programs. De Jong's other projects include With One Voice, an all-inclusive choir that accepts members regardless of their social or economic status. It's part of her Creativity Australia organization, which often helps people develop skills other than singing and teamwork. She also presents leadership, team-building, and innovation programs to businesses, including recording the TEDTalk "With One Voice" and founding the annual conference Creative Innovation, attended by business people from all over the Asia-Pacific region. And then there's her artist management company, Musical Theater Australia. With all of this to keep her busy, de Jong did not release a solo album until early 2015. The album, Heaven on Earth, contains original music by Joe Chindamo, and songs based on familiar classical melodies for which she wrote new lyrics. ~ Patsy Morita
