iTunes Review

Deerhunter’s dark, dreamy indie rock reached its crest on their fifth album, Halcyon Digest. Marrying punk grit with the romantic lilt of doo-wop ballads and early '60s pop, the band created a kind of modern noir—seductive and mysterious but alluringly rough around the edges. Songs like “Revival” and “Memory Boy” ring out like a basement-dwelling version of The Byrds; “Basement Scene” is their “La Bamba”—a fascinating take on the past by one of the present’s most unusual indie rock bands.

AMAZING - just listen and see...

This band are incredible and have created this album that is a testament to that fact.
I could go on forever describing the pure creativity, stunning originality, comforting nostalgia and edgy vocals that is perfectly peppered throughout each song of Deerhunter's Halycon Digest but just listen to it and see for yourself :)

Highlights are Desire Lines, which is beyond words, and Helicopter takes you to another place and is a thing of beauty...

Dont look

I'd do this record too. Good call . Nothing to fault with this masterpiece, absolute quality all the way through, especially the last three tunes. Compelled me to write my first ever Itunes review so it's an emotional time.

Cox is also a striking on-stage presence: the exceedingly skinny 6'4" lead singer has Marfan syndrome, a genetic disorder of the connective tissue that gives him abnormally long and spindly limbs. (The late Joey Ramone was...
