Album Review

Five years separate Gavin DeGraw's 2003 debut, Chariot, and its eponymous follow-up. Gavin DeGraw exists in a world where he's ubiquitous, played constantly in malls, movie theaters, TV shows, and American Idol, where his "I Don't Want to Be" was a virtual standard. Gavin DeGraw pretty much offers more of the same as Chariot, polishing up the sound, turning it into something bigger and slicker, but not changing his somewhat rootsy, somewhat soulful pop a whit. Unlike Maroon 5, he doesn't chase after modern trends in either R&B or pop — he sticks with what he knows. Anybody who enjoyed Chariot will probably like this.

In Love With Gavin's Music

There comes along, very rarely, an artist who should be cherished, respected, and appreciated. Gavin DeGraw is one of these talents. The amount of care put into his music shines thorugh every song, equally apparant in his lyrics, his melodies and the instruments used to support his voice. It's been a long while since there has been a singer with such well-rounded abilities and who knows exactly what he wants his music to say, and how to put that across. You will not regret buying this album.

Just right

A well rounded album, Gavin puts a lot of heart into his songs and it shows. If you loved Chariot you'll definitly love this one. Similar yet different, it has songs you can relate to,songs you can sing along to,songs that will make you cry, songs that will be stuck in your head for a while...everything a good album needs!Very much worth buying!

Worth the wait :D

The long await for Gavin Degraw's second album has been well worth the wait. For those who have followed Gavin through the years since the release of his first album in 2003, you will recognise a few songs such as 'relative', 'cop stop' and 'we belong together' (which he has re-recorded). Also contining to bring us soulful music, that has been crafted by the man himself. He sings of what is real and from the heart.... Hopefully we will be lucky enough that Gavin will record a stripped acoustic album, like he did with the very successful Chariot album. The only negative point to make about the album is the backup singing inwhich only detracted from the amazing quality of his voice and musicianship.
