Easy Listening

I was lucky enough to see Vance Joy perform live in Melbourne as the support act to Of Monsters and Men earlier this year, and fell in love with his sweet acoustic sound. The definite highlight for me was 'Emmylou', a beautiful melodic ode to his sweetheart, littered with cutsie lyrics such as "You wear your socks to bed" and "sleepyhead". 'From Afar' is slightly more melancholic, a poetic tale of forbidden love, whilst 'Snaggletooth' is a fun ditty about embracing your quirks and loving somebody else's flaws. Vance Joy's sound is mature and comfortably slots into the already successful line-up of young Australian singer-songwriters. A soulful, folkie album with happiness and heart. Highly recommended!

Vance Joy!

Riptide is the kind of song you can't help but what to get up and dance too. You wanna do cartwheels in the back yard and laugh and just have fun. Vance is going far. New favourite song, thank you <3

Not just for the young

Great album. Listen to it all day long. This artist deserves more recognition and commercial success.
