The mystery of the "Saboteurs!"

The band's name is the "Raconteurs" everywhere but in Australia, because a rock-jazz combo outfit from Brisbane owns the Australasian rights to the name "Raconteurs". Rather than pay them usage fees, Jack White & Co. simply changed the band's name to the Saboteurs in Australia to avoid being sued. Hope thats clears it up! P.S. Good album too...

Worth it...

This is a fabulous album. Great riffs, interesting (albeit occasionally bizarre) lyrics, and the contrast between Jack White and Brendan Benson's voices is almost magical. Listen to 'Level' if you don't believe me. The Raconteurs may not be a true 'supergroup', but they're pretty super. :D

Well done boys.

A big credit to all of them. Good to see Jack White show that even with all the rules and restrictions he has with the White Stripes, he still knows how to have fun. Hopefully this will give Brendan Benson a bit of a leg up as he is one of the most fantastic, albeit underrated, pop artist of modern times. Hopefully we will get to see more from the (Racon/Sabo)teurs in the near future...
