Lucky they broke up...

Ok, I am a massive Matches fan. E Von Dahl... and Decomposer are some of my fave albums of all time. These offcut recordings for new songs are nothing like the glory days. The Matches moved towards an experimental poppy sound which has none of the energy that they used to have. None of these songs stand out. Not catchy, not fun, not the Matches! If this was the path the Matches planned to take in the future, I'm glad they ended the band before completely ruining their reputation. If you haven't got their old albums, buy them instead!
