Album Review

In 1997, the 20th anniversary of Marc Bolan's death, former bandmate Mickey Finn put together a loose aggregation of fellow ex-T. Rex-ers to play at one of the tribute concerts that were held that sad season. Fair enough. But it was difficult to shake the cynicism from your hair when a fresh version of that band then went out to greet the greatest-hits circuit with only two actual T. Rex veterans (Finn and latter-day sideman Paul Fenton) on board, and even harder to comprehend the group's continued existence once Finn, too, had passed away. Yet here they are, still going strong, a T. Rex tribute band in everything but name. Fifteen slabs of primal Bolan boogie roll across the disc, and maybe if you're really not paying attention, vocalist Rob Benson does pull off a passable impression of the late master.

Not the original recordings!

I Tunes should make it clear whether or not an album is the original recording or not. THIS ALBUM ISN'T and this is the second time I have wasted my money on purchasing sub par versions of original songs. If you are going to supply a superior product, you should do better than this!

This isnt the original

The original from Electric Warrior is a haunting song that starts with a thumping beat. this pallid version completely ruins the song with it's syrupy strings. Why isn't this the original version? it should be made clear before you purchase it. false advertsing!

Awful version

Agree with the other comments. Waste of money !!!!!!

Annoyed :-((((

Initially a British folk-rock combo called Tyrannosaurus Rex, T. Rex was the primary force in glam rock, thanks to the creative direction of guitarist/vocalist Marc Bolan (born Marc Feld). Bolan created a deliberately trashy form of rock & roll that was proud of its own disposability. T. Rex's music borrowed the underlying sexuality of early rock & roll, adding dirty, simple grooves and fat distorted guitars, as well as an overarching folky/hippie spirituality that always came through the clearest...
