More earth-shaking metal from the French titans

Listeners who found Gojira's last outing (The Way of all Flesh) somewhat bloated will find much to like here. L'enfant Sauvage feels like a much more concise effort, with shorter song lengths serving to accentuate the music's unique blend of melody and sonic violence. The title track pummels and uplifts, and by the end of 'The Fall' the listener is left with the overwhelming sense that this enornously heavy music is more than the sum of its parts. Amongst the rage and shuddering rhythms there are plenty of hooks to be found as well - L'enfant Sauvage is a headphones album that rewards repeated listens, but is also one to be enjoyed at maximum volume.

Love it like your Mum!

After a long anticipated wait this album does not disappoint. It may take a few listens to grasp the depth and flow but L'enfant Savage deserves high rotation!
