Ironically, what

It certainly can't be easy formulating a nearly 6 minute piece based on a 30 second "demo" if you will, and Bryan Steeksma has certainly put in a solid effort here. However, unfortunately their piece was plagued by what already existed. The song begins in a dark sombre tone - it sounds absolutely brilliant. Much of what's new also follows this tone - a tone that the existing "Listen to Reason" tune hardly obeys. It sticks out like a sore thumb, which is certainly disappointing. However, even with the existing tune standing out against the background, a clever series of notes is played and we're suddenly lunged back into the new stuff. If the existing tune were modified, I'm sure this piece would have been absolutely brilliant. However, it seems as if they were stuck between a rock and a hard place. The existing tune is what people wanted, and subsequentially it's what they got. Personally, it seems I would've preferred a slightly modified tune with the same lyrics.

Never the less, a solid effort, I give it a 3.5/5.
