This is bigger than just music...

Every now and then a film composer comes along who has more than just good classical chops and a basic knowledge of orchestration: there's something more special about their music that shines through that makes one wonder about the inner workings of the person who wrote it. When listening to works like "Emma" and "Rescue Me" and "Nanno" -- and then the slowly-building and very life-affirming "Every LIfe Has a Moment" -- I feel like something is being revealed to me as a listener. It's like the composer is sharing something emotional that's bigger than just the music, but somehow it's been reduced to a 99-cent commodity. I want to know more.... I want liner notes or something like that where the composer can tell us what was going on that inspired these pieces of music. I've gotten quite addicted to his work & have it on repeat all the time! And while you may have come here for the GLEE love theme, I hope you'll stick around for the rest of the album, because it outshines most things in the iTunes marketplace right now. It's 100% quality, and musicality at its finest.

Lovely and Amazing

I'm in love with this album, partly because of the love theme from GLEE that's on it ("Looking Back" - it's used throughout season 1 of GLEE for Rachel & Finn and mostly Will & Emma!) but also because so many of these cues were actually inspired by the show GLEE. I read an interview with this composer who gave some insight into what things from the show inspired him to write some of these tracks, like "Emma" - which, by the way, is so gorgeous and romantic that it's like when Emma was in the wedding dress & singing with Will. The whole album is really lovely, and is perfect music for a long drive or a walkabout in the woods. Some of the pieces are lighter in nature, but some have some real emotional heft to them that I find quite impressive (Nanno, The Fat Girl). And if you want a dose of pure happiness, buy "Nightswimming" - then play it REALLY. LOUD. :)
