iTunes Review

2007’s Cease to Begin is a melodic treasure. The tight country harmonies of “Marry Song,” the swooning ‘60s-to-‘90s shoegazer pop of “No One’s Gonna Love You” and the ominous, haunting anthemic riff of the album’s opener “Is There A Ghost” illustrate the group’s far-reaching range.

Fantastic ambient feel-good album

A great album to take with you in the road. Each song is individual yet correlates to the next. A beautiful feel of subtle reverb sounds and indie rock with Ben Bridwell's beautiful mysterious haunting voice.

Is There a Ghost.

I love this tune, it's simple, it's precise, it's dynamic and gets straight to the point. Simply perfect. If you dig this you should check out Rudely Interrupted's Don't break my heart.

Cease to Better

This album is a wonderful mix of country-style ballads and indie folk-rock songs. All beautifully crafted and with layered harmonies and melodies that you could listen to forever. If you like The Fleet Foxes, The Shins or Rogue Wave, then Band of Horses are an excellent addition to your great taste in music! Stand out tracks: Is There a Ghost?; Ode to LRC; The General Specific and Cigarettes, Wedding Bands.

Sub Pop signed Band of Horses in 2005 and reissued their self-released EP later that...
