Excellent Album.

Take no notice of the overseas releases of this album. The Australian edition is THE album.

What could have easily been an Iva Davies solo album has to be ranked as one of Icehouse's best. Mr Davies played almost all the instruments himself, yet still made it feel like a band album. A testament to his talent.

Maybe we've heard a little too much of 'Great Southern Land' and 'Hey Little Girl', but this album digs deeper. 'Uniform', Street Cafe', Trojan Blue' and 'Mysterious Thing' all rate as well as the hits. Dedicated to 'Glam', anybody?

The only miss was the exclusion of 'Over The Line'. A great song, which appeared on the b-side to the 'Street Cafe' single in 1983.

Though it has had varying personnel, Icehouse was essentially a vehicle for the work of Australian Iva Davies. Davies formed the first version of the band under the name Flowers in 1980 and began scoring hits in Australia with the group's first single, "Can't Help Myself."
