This volume in Universal's Icon series is exactly the same Salt-N-Pepa compilation as 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection from 2008, with an extra single tacked on the end, 1991’s “Backyard,” with Pebbles.

Can you get any better than this group? They have stood the test of time, enough said.

By the late '80s, hip-hop was on its way to becoming a male-dominated art form, which is what made the emergence of Salt-n-Pepa so significant.
