iTunes Review

Name-checking a host of other female pop stars, Lily Allen opens her third album with a plainspoken demand: “Gimme that crown… I wanna be Sheezus”. The charts would have a lot more moxie under Allen’s reign—Sheezus is brimming with sarcastic one-liners and quick-witted feminist jabs. Produced largely by GRAMMY®-winning songwriter Greg Kurstin (Foster the People, Ellie Goulding), Allen’s songs can be playfully sweet (the sweeping “Air Balloon” and the bubbling “L8 CMMR”), sardonic (the midtempo highlight “Our Time”) or downright salty (the anti-misogyny tirade of “Hard out Here”). But it’s the songwriter’s whip-smart intelligence that gives the big hooks of Sheezus lasting substance.

Cant wait for Ms Allen’s new album!! already know im gonna love it :D SHEEZUS

An album to get… now.

Lily’s wit never disappoints! Each track is filled to the brim with sarcastic, ironic phrases and one-liners- all of which underline major issues with our society, and in particular, the representation of women. Sheezus is an album which aims to empower- whether it’s through the sexually-dominanted track “Close Your Eyes” or “Our Time”; which aims to prevent the condemnation of women, and in particular, women who just want to live life without people constantly looking over their shoulder telling them what to do.

This album is quite a leap from her prior albums, as Lily herself describes the album as more ‘contemporary’ sounding. However existing Lily Allen fans will definitely find more than enough quality in this amazing album. Look forward to its release!

A little generic, but still love Lily but i do prefer her older stuff like 'It's Not Me, It's You' that's my favourite album of hers and i do believe one of her best works

With her omnivorous musical tastes and cheeky attitude, London-based pop singer/songwriter Lily Allen made a name for herself almost as soon as she released her demos on the Internet. The daughter of comedian Keith Allen, Lily spent most of her childhood bouncing from one school to another; in fact, she attended 13 different schools between the ages of five and 15. This constant moving meant she didn't have much of a chance to make lasting friendships, so Allen entertained herself with books and,...
