Album Review

An X Factor finalist with a smoky neo-soul voice, Rebecca Ferguson began working on her major-label debut in early 2011, mere weeks after becoming the show’s 2010 runner-up. Released later that year, the record sketches out a soulful sound similar to Duffy and Corrine Bailey Ray. Ferguson puts her own stamp on the music by co-writing every track, including the lead single “Nothing’s Real But Love.” Most X Factor finalists load their debut albums with cover songs and schmaltzy ballads; Ferguson, an established songwriter as well as a singer, proves there are other avenues worth exploring., Rovi

Solid effort.

Usually not my kind of music, but I followed The X Factor UK 2010 (my favourite season) so I'm aware of Rebecca and her talent. Her voice is so distinctive and soulful. Great album. Great debut!

This girl is something special, and this album is bordering on perfect - songs like 'Nothing's Real but Love', 'Glitter & Gold', 'Run Free' and 'Teach Me How to Be Loved' showcase her unique and talented vocal ability, and it sounds different to all the electro-pop songs on the radio...a nice break from the norm!

This album was no where near long enough, wish there was more =D . Her voice is enchanting and with a slightly haunting feel to it. Gives me chills when I listen to it. LOVE IT!!
