From L.A. to Nashville...

So rarely does a sideman step out from behind great recording artists and make a statement so bold and so strong. Using enormous subtly and restrain in his delivery, Greg V seems to calmly execute from song to song what many guitarists struggle to offer in one solo. Tailgate Troubadour is an album of instrumentals built upon bedrock melodic foundations. Each track is more of a journey than a showcase of flair or virtuosity, and it is here that Greg separates himself from those that came before. There are no gratuitous fingerboard antics or attempts at land speed records. Just taste and tone. And what taste and tone. Tailgate Troubadour is an album that paints the scenery from the very first song to the last. No track skipping required... No only does each song hit its mark, but the order of the songs from Rusting Soul to After The Miles seems to negotiate the bends and journey from town to town with a most natural yet unpredictable flow. Wind your window down, stick your elbow out and travel via Tailgate Troubadour's varied landscape of valve edged rock tones, dulcet acoustic fingerings, lyrical dobro slides and most importantly heart and soul. There is a guitar shaped road from L.A. to Nashville and Greg V will show you where.
