Album Review

Love Club, the official debut EP from precocious New Zealand-based singer/songwriter Ella Yelich O'Connor, who operates under the moniker Lorde, arrives on the heels of her infectious debut single "Royals," which became a viral sensation in 2012, receiving over half-a-million hits on YouTube. The EP, which includes her signature hit, finds the Kiwi chanteuse offering up five evocative, electro-pop meditations on life, love, and the eternal joys and pains of youth, providing a sultry, sinewy soundtrack to summer that will likely draw comparisons to artists like Sky Ferreira, Florence + the Machine, Lana Del Ray, and Grimes. [Love Club was also released as a five-track digital download.]

unbelievable talent

I have been playing this album over and over, and come back to it a lot. Give it a try even if you're a bit sceptic - it's a marvellous EP and I can't wait for more.

Awesome kiwi talent! Obsessed

EPIC listening!

I first heard royals on JJJ... And cranked it straight away. I love her! Vocals are gorgeous and there's a funky clean mix of sounds. Definately my favourite 5 songs at the moment! Or repeat!! Can't wait for the album :)

"Royals," the hit single that made her an international phenomenon, became a genuine sensation, topping the charts in country after country and being covered by elder statesmen like Bruce Springsteen and Jack White, a move that functioned a bit...
