Lost in the Woods

I began writing this review half-way through, thinking I had a reasonable cross-section, evidently not so!

An unprecedented gambit of variation orbiting around the classic Silversun grit.
‘Here We Are,’ flavorfully Radiohead, then blasted away by ‘Mean Spirits,’ a perfect windows-down fast-driver.
‘The Pit;’ incredibly New Wave- blue monday jangly bass and arpeggiators a nice reference. Sassy vox, out of no-where. Love it.
‘Dots and Dashes,’ my current favorite- it has everything. Octave vocals over rumbling riffs, set off by a great chorus and gazy bridge.

The tracklist on first listen doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, ‘Skin Graph’ and ‘Make Believe’ feel like they should’ve been in the latter thirds, however it does let the album build. ‘Bloody Mary,’ of course, needs no comment.

Neck of the Woods an impressive offering that marries Carnavas, Swoon and something new. Fans rejoice.

different from the old

Not a bad edition but most of the songs feel a little disjointed and out of place, however there were some standouts for me like gunshy sunshine, if your a fan worth it.

Been waiting ages for a new album by these guys and it didn't dissapiont!

Silversun Pickups issued their debut release, the six-song Pikul EP, that same year while shared show dates with the likes of Brendan Benson,...
