Up Until Recently

This album has been a long time coming, and in my opinion, worth the wait. Mark Robinson writes and sings from the heart, which means his music is not always easy to hear, because it deals with emotions that are often raw and uncomfortable; but refreshingly real and honest (and in some ways part of the common experience of all of us).

I enjoyed listening to this album, and some of the tunes have even stuck with me to the extent that I've caught myself humming them as I potter around the house. Well worth a listen.

Inspired work of Art

Mark Robinson writes songs that stick in your head and draw you into the story. With a great feel that seems to have inspiration from the likes of Bob Dylan to Sting to Blondie, this album is both lyrically and musically delightful. I hope he does some live work as I think (and hope) these songs would connect well live. This album is already high on my favorites on my iPod. I'd recommend them to you and believe they will be favs of yours too.

Destined to be a true classic

Not very often to I find a collection of songs that are so infectious in their sound, depth and spirit that I am effected over and over by them. Bruce Cockburn's 'Dart to the Heart' Bob Dylan's 'Oh Mercy' to name two from a very very short list. 'Up Until Recently' is on that list and it is closer to the top than the bottom. Don't hesitate don't wait. Life's to short get it now.

While in high school during the early '80s he formed Unrest with Phil Krauth, which lasted several albums and several singles into the mid-'90s. Shortly after the demise of that band, he formed Air Miami with other Unrest-mate Bridget Cross. Breaking up after an album and EP, Robinson moved on...
