Editors’ Notes

It begins with a bloodcurdling scream but do not judge too quickly. Ex-Shadows Fall singer Philip Lobante may wish to send the faint of heart running to the exits, but his band is determined to work on multiple levels of the game, ensuring more than just the allegiance of the heavy metal faithful. That’s a pretty, catchy and sleek melody that comes in to relieve Lobante’s hoarse shouting on the album opener “This Calling.” Guitarists Mike Martin and Oli Herbert work the Massachusetts combo’s second album into a lush, multi-textured juggernaut that’s packed with solid, modestly flamboyant instrumental flourishes. “Not Alone” features arpeggiated and harmonied guitar leads straight from the Iron Maiden playbook, while “It Dwells in Me”’s extended passages juxtapose the group’s chain-gang rhythms with a slithering liquidity that’s pure guitar-hero finesse. For some, this blatant clash of styles will make for tough assimilation. You can’t be blamed for wishing Lobante pulled back from the full-on frontal assault from time to time. His horror-movie theatrics work best layered alongside the manicured harmony vocals than when left to twist alone in the eerie, lightning charged air.

All That Remains~need i say more?

These guys are awesome, im soooo glad i got this album. 4 anybody who likes metalcore like Bullet For My Valentine, or Atreyu this is a MUST have album...this rulez!

Great Album

this album is very good different from this darkened heart but still very cool the way they set up the riffs and the transitions from verse to chorus are brilliant the first time i heard six was on guitar hero 2 and it blew me away 3 weeks later i went and bought the album and was blown away how awsum it was. this album easly tops this darkened heart and they have alot of potental with this new style. best songs would have to be this calling, not alone, whispers (i hear you) and six i mean all the songs are just as good (except mabye the weak willed unless you like death metal) so buy the album but if your looking for a sample get those songs

Good band

Yeah i like there songs, especially SIX i dominate that song when im playing it on Guitar hero 2 on hard and expert haha, good album this calling is an awesome starting song as well.
