I had hoped MP's next album would compare to the beauty and perfection of her previous recordings. I could't have imagined just how brilliant it would be though! This album is out of this world and sets a new standard. This lady is one amazing artist!

Madeleine Peyroux - Bare Bones

Madeleine Peyroux's distinctive voice and style and evident again in this recording - this time of her own compositions. The backing is relatively sparse, but works beautifully; the vocals beguiling, the lyrics engaging, the style languid with that touch of French ennui. Not just more of the same as her previous recordings, we can see an artist growing with this set. Highly recommended for when you want to sit and listen and pay attention to the lyrics.
