Customer Reviews

Ethereal.. otherwordly.

Indietronica at its finest. Absolutely dreamy. You feel like you're on another level listening to it, with every sound, every synth, and all of her vocals being so circumambient.. you feel surrounded and immersed. It has this soft fluffy quality about it. Sorry about the poor review, the album is simply indescribable. Personally, the star track is Lock You Up, and the lowest point of the album is either Grins or You're the One. Only personal preferences, don't take my favourites to heart! Great album, completely worth it.

Charli XCX - One to watch!

This great new artist is one to watch. I am only giving 'True Romance' 4 stars and not 5 because I believe Charli is still finding her feet and is capable of even greater things in the future.

There are also some really great remixes of 'You're the One' such as the odd future remix. I wish that was included on this album as a bonus track, as it reveals a completely different and worthwhile interpretation of that song. Still you can find that track available on a single and I'd recommend it, if you haven't heard it.

Overall, very good! :)

This chick is amazing. I want all of her songs. I could listen to her all day every day til the day i die! :)

Born: London, England

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '10s

The nom de pop of Charlotte Aitchison, Charli XCX mixes influences and inspirations as diverse as the Spice Girls, Kate Bush, Lil Wayne, Quentin Tarantino, and Twin Peaks into moody yet catchy pop. She began making music at an early age while growing up in Hertfordshire, England, and released a pair of singles, 2008's "Emelline/Art Bitch" and "!Franchesckaar!," while still in her teens. She also recorded her first album that year, which she sold at concerts although it never saw an official release....
