Album Review

Limp Bizkit went on hiatus during the back half of the 2000s, with leader Fred Durst finding far more critical acclaim as a film director than he ever did as a singer. Despite these hosannas, Durst felt compelled to reunite the Bizkit, to find a way to tap into the anger that started the whole ball rolling. A tough task for any band, but apart from dabbling with Auto-Tune — the quivering electronic vocal effect that gets skewered on “AutoTunage” — Limp Bizkit is intent on rolling back the clock and returning to the full-throttled attack of Three Dollar Bill Y’All. As sheer sound, it’s executed well — more assured and musical than any of their other albums — their age lending them a dexterity absent in their hits.

Meh

Omg they should have left it at chocolate starfish I have no idea why people like this it's got to be the worst cd Iv ever heard

Better than Expected

I'll admit i had misgivings about this album since it has been years since Limp Bizkit released some new music, but this exceeded my expectations. Gold Cobra is a huge improvement over their last few releases. At times it may be disjointed, especially with the annoying interludes at the end of some songs, but it's still musically solid, with Wes, Sam and John being the ones that shine on the record. Fred's vocals are also much better than they were on the Chocolate Starfish album, though some of his lyrics may still not make sense at times.

Overall, Gold Cobra is a musically solid album that is worth listening to and perfect for any Limp Bizkit fan, and their best album since Significant Other.

Track picks: Walking Away, Shark Attack, Why Try and Get a Life

Great album from a GREAT band

it has been SOO long since they have made new music and i know EVERY limp bizcuit fan was waiting for this. They should of called this album "greatest hits" becuz this is the BEST of limp bizbuit u will get. cuz this is brilliant. but whats with the end of some of these songs? the highlights for me would have to be Bring it back, Get a Life, Killer in you,Gold Cobra and Loser. Buy this if ur a limp bizcuit fan, u won't be dissapointed.

The rap-metal outfit Limp Bizkit was formed in Florida in 1994 by vocalist Fred Durst and his friend, bassist Sam Rivers. Rivers' cousin John Otto soon joined on drums, and guitarist Wes Borland completed the original foursome (later supplemented by DJ Lethal). After Korn played the Jacksonville area in 1995, bassist Fieldy got several tattoos from Durst (a tattoo artist) and the two became friends. The next time Korn were in the area, they picked up Limp Bizkit's demo tape and were so impressed...
