Album Review

Save Junior Vasquez's appearance, RuPaul doesn't have the clout in 2006 to draw the big-name remixers for his Reworked collection. He does have taste, though, and this collection of remixed material — mostly sourced from the 2004 album Red Hot — will give hardcore fans a thrilling ride. The sounds of trance, house, and mainstream dance are all applied skillfully and there's even a bit of Kraftwerk by way of Afrika Bambaataa on the "Planet Rock"-inspired "El Lay Toya Jam" remix of "Supermodel." Unfortunately, the remixes of "Supermodel" are based on a re-recording instead of the original hit, and unless you're familiar with and a fan of Red Hot, then the rest of this really isn't for you. It's for the die-hard fan who will not only get an inspired set of remixes but also some of the strangest photographs of RuPaul — creepy ones that might make Marilyn Manson uneasy — in the liner notes.

Nice :)

I love this Remix album! It is alot better than her album RedHot. All the songs are the same just remixed. Here's a little review 'bout each 1. Supermodel (El Lay Toya Jam) - You can find this and alot more remixes on the Supermodel Reworked CD. Very good with extra lyrics. 5/5 2. Give It One More Try (RedTop's Club Vocal Mix) - Loved Every minutes of this song!! 5/5 3. Just a Little In And Out (T-Girlz Crunk Mix) - When I first heard this I was thinking that this isn't very long. Besides, this mix is a edit. But very good. 4/5 4. The Lonely (Gusieppe D's Solitude Mix) - Very Nice !!! 5/5 5. Free To Be (OrangeFuZzZ Emancipation Radio Mix) - It's so much better than the album version back years ago 3/5. 6. People Are People (Guiseppe D's Rutroactive MixShow) - I think it should have been the SSSnakin' Breakin' Mix. It's just the album mix. 2/5 7. Coming Out Of Hiding. (Spectrum/Odyessy Mix) - Ok, not the best 3/5 8. Hollywood U.S.A. (Pigeon Forge Vocal) - The best Ever mix of Hollywood U.S.A. Much better than the DutchVocalVibe Dub. 100/5 All the others are pretty good. But I don't wanna keep writing. So Get the album, not just one song!!

"Sashay, shantay!" With those famous lyrics, RuPaul Andre Charles broke into the public consciousness with his 1993 hit "Supermodel (You Better Work)." The iconic actor, model, author, television personality, musician, and LGBTQ pioneer was born in San Diego and, as a teen, moved to Atlanta to study performing arts. In the early '80s, he got his start as a musician performing with his new-wave-inspired band Wee Wee Pole. RuPaul would go on to work the club scene as a backup singer and dancer, eventually...
