Love the Careem App and it's community benefits

The Careem app is very easy to use, I mostly use it for taxis and for ordering food delivery. It has so many different restaurants and food outlets to choose from and the delivery tracking is very helpful too.

I also love the community initiatives like #eataplate2fillaplate during Ramadan which feeds a child for every food order made at participating venues during Ramadan.

Points earned

The points one earns are not easily visible and insufficient information on how to use them. I only came across them by chance the day after departure Dubai.
Ideally there should be a prompt in the booking a ride payment page asking if you want to redeem any points for that booking as found on many other apps.
The validity is rather short especially as many tourists use this and are unlikely to return within a month or 2.
Furthermore most tourists won’t have accounts in middle eastern countries.
The points should be able to be refunded into the credit card or whatever account the funds are usually billed to

If only

It seems like a great service and I have used Uber and other similar services extensively worldwide so I was excited to started using Careem.
The app is great, straightforward and easy to use. However, this all counts for nought if you can’t actually make a booking!
I have a car and love driving but I have a broken legs and needed to head to the hospital for follow up and though - what a great opportunity to try out careem. The booking process is easy and I was excited (even though you have no options for different services) but the app is consistently returning an error message that they’re run into a problem and I should try again later - I have - for the last 3 hours. Tried contact customer support and had no response.
Looks like I’ll just have to call for a cab instead.
