What's New in Version 1.2
New in version 1.2 ***
Thanks for your feedback. Our FREE ABC Radio App is now even better.
LIVE RADIO STREAM RESTARTS AFTER AN INTERUPTION: the live radio stream will try to restart after an interruption or drop-out - e.g. after a call ends.
IMPROVED BUFFERING DISPLAY: to show you when a live radio stream is no longer playing, but has started buffering.
PLAY YOUR FAVOURITE ABC RADIO STATION MORE QUICKLY: you can set the live radio streams to AUTOPLAY when the app starts and when you open a station screen; and the app will load more quickly.
BETTER FEEDBACK MECHANISM so we can more effectively help and you don’t have to answer so many questions.
BETTER HELP and FAQ’S SCREEN to answer common questions.
BETTER LAYOUT for the iPhone 5 and 4 inch iPod Touch.
FASTER SHARING with IOS 6 via FACEBOOK AND TWITTER: thanks to single sign-on.
BUG FIXES and stability improvements.
New in version 1.1 ***
BETTER VOICEOVER ACCESSIBILITY for our vision impaired audience.
A SLEEP TIMER so you can go to sleep listening to your favourite ABC Radio program.
THE PROGRAM GUIDE TIMEZONE will now adjust to your timezone, rather than being fixed to the station's timezone.
Solid, could use a few more features
We have this on an old iPhone which is in a speaker dock in our kitchen. We listen to DIG a lot.
A couple of hopefully easy features which would make it even better:
1. A display of the time (we currently have a separate app for this, so have to window between the time app and abc radio. I'd rather have abc radio going and still be able to see what's playing).
2. Access to some of the DIG style info and dig it button. Again, if we want to interact with this it means a lot of jigging around if the phone is in the dock).
3. Can someone work out how to sync the Roy and HG commentary with the tv broadcast in Adelaide this year. Having them out of sync means the games are unwatchable. I was devastated to have them back but not be able to watch and listen.
Thanks ABC. Best 8 cents a day I ever spent.
It's my ABC
Love it! Downloaded so we could listen to the Hottest 100. We live in the hinterland behind Noosa and our town has appalling Triple J reception - fuzzy in the car but nothing in the house. Took a few days to work out it runs on EDST, thought I was going mad. Love the option of switching to my grown-up station as well.
Why do I need to invent some random nickname? I find it hard to believe every one I tried is used...
good, works, but rough edges and not optimised for iPad
pity there is no alarm clock feature for the iOS version
it would have been much better (5 star from me for sure) if it had the ability to message abc stations directly through the app rather than having to drop back to a twitter, SMS or similar app.
also, and a minor point, would nice to do a port to tablet app so that it looks nicer on the larger screen.
