What's New in Version 1.56
• We broke the app in the last update. We fixed it in this one.
• Updated for iOS 8
• Improved AI engine
• Minor bug fixes
Disappointed with the new version
The computer keeps doubling, even though it has no chance of winning so a 15 game match is usually over in just one game. It's really easy to beat too but still pretty fun and generally a good app.
However, with the current version, ads appear while you're playing a game but the size of the ad is too big for the screen (iPhone 4s) so you can't click the X to close the app. Even if you click on it and go back in to the game it's still there, so you need to completely close the game down every time this happens and is so frustrating you'll just stop playing
Computer wins through dice bias
Initially I enjoyed this game. I hadn't played the real thing for thirty years and the medium setting was good to relearn.
Unfortunately the hard level is only hard because the dice bias allows the computer to win through favourable rolls, not skill.
My blocked moves are most often 4 doubles but they are very rare otherwise.
The computers opening moves are also favoured towards safe moves.
Other reviews back this up. The dice should be random otherwise it becomes boring very quickly.
Portrait ads in landscape game = fail
Not sure what was broken in the previous release, but in your bid to monetise your game with more ads you have made it unplayable by pop-up ads in portrait with the close button obscured by the fact the game can only be played in landscape.
Until this point the game was fine.
