Not a bad start

Ian’s Review

The ink technology is fantastic, and it seems to offer a more realistic writing experience (using both a finger and stylus) compared to the other applications (such as Penultimate, UPAD, etc.)

However, that is basically it. The app does look great and is nice and fast, but it is missing a whole host of features.

- Multiple notebooks (though a 2 dollar in-app purchase will give you 20 - why 20?!?)
- Folders (like in UPAD) to manage notebooks
- The wrist support technology works well, but still leaves little marks on the screen where you wrist is resting, which you keep having to erase.
- The pinch-zoom does not work that great. I found it leaving marks where it would get confused if I was pinching or simply drawing a line.
- Landscape mode does not work. The v1.4 release says that it supports landscape mode, but as another reviewer mentioned, all it does is move the icons to the top of the screen. The page thought is still left in portrait ... not very useful. This is a killer. Writing in portrait can be hard without a stylus, and even then is not easy due to the limited space per line. Landscape mode gives you more room to play and can make it easier.
- A few more paper options (colours, lines, etc.) would be nice.

Overall, I still think it is a great app, and I have high hope for the future. Wacom typically make some great stuff, so hopefully they keep on developing it.

My favorite note app

texinick

I've tried many note taking apps, and this is still my favorite. Sure, Penultimate and Noteshelf may have more features, but I still come back to Bamboo.

I've noticed a couple of reviews making comments about features which could be implemented, and they already are... 1) to rename a note book, just click on the title when viewing the covers. 2) You can also delete, re-order pages, and even copy pages between notebooks, simply go into a notebook, click on the page number at the bottom of the page, and drag the pages around, or hold your finger on a page, and choose the copy option to paste into another notebook.

Great stuff Wacom... How about an iPhone version with iCloud sync? Maybe even just a cut down version? Or even a desktop Mac version so that we can view/edit notes with a Trackpad?
