Beat Hazard Ultra 4+

Really it's a wonder why this isn't #1 on top 25. The game is literally what it says, "made from YOUR MUSIC". Controls are a bit clunky but that may just be my sweaty hands =D. Visuals are stunning but may hurt your eyes with the flashes. Boss fights are a bit repetitive but still a challenge. Perks I personally found confusing and at times unbalanced and overpowerd. Their is an auto fire feature but it could do with improvement or you can go with dual sticks, up to you. But don't be mistaken this is a great iOS game and for all you auzy Good Game fans I'm giving it 9.5/10 rubber chickens xD. (You wanted a review so you got it)

I love Beat Hazard on PC, and just last night I wondered if there was a similar game for iOS that would allow me to play my own music. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the familiar Beat Hazard icon in the top of the Music category in the app store.

Pretty much all of the functionality of the PC version is here, and it looks almost identical graphically. Now I can enjoy the same great gameplay on my phone.

The only issue is the controls which understandably can't match the finesse of using an Xbox 360 controller plugged into my PC when playing the PC version. The same dual stick controls apply here except on the touch screen. The floating sticks could use some work as they can float too far and screw you mid-song. I'm finding the fixed sticks better, but somewhat too large, making quick and precise movements more difficult. In addition you're covering the bottom corners of the screen with your thumbs, obscuring sneaky ships and asteroids that may fly up from below, which can be an issue on the higher difficulties.

Despite the controls, which could use a bit of tweaking, especially after playing the PC version, the same amazing Beat Hazard gameplay is all here. If you love music you will love this game.

Game is better than the pictures make it out to be. Many modes to play, any music on your ipod can be used, and radio can also be used to find other songs from within the game.

There is a level up system and perks which you can get to make your life easier, and can be disabled for a challenge. You can only have so many perks at one time, however, and enabling and upgrading unlocked perks requires in game money, which you collect just buy playing.

All levels are powered by your music, and a track will have the same boss fights and enemies when you play it again, allowing you to master any tracks. There are also leaderboards intergrated with gamecenter, so competing against anyone or friends is possible.

All this neatly bundled in a single dollar package (or at least when I bought it) gives you so much value for this game that I will highly recommend it to anyone!!
