Essential security for your Mac!

Bitdefender Virus Scanner finds Mac malware as well as Windows viruses with ease. Virus Scanner will detect any infected files that you downloaded or got in your inbox, so your Mac will be safe and you won’t pass anything bad to your friends’ computer.

Make sure your Mac is free of infected files. Don't put your friends and family at risk by unknowingly passing along malware.

Best ani-virus app!!!

I had an issuie with my macbook pro where it opens random new tabs when im surfing through the web. I thought it was asomething to do with advertisements. i tried using adblock extensions but still the issue didn't get solved. When i had nothing else to do i finally thought there must be some kind of a virus in my laptop and downloaded this app and after the 1st scan i found out there were some files in my laptop thats causing to open random tabs when im using safari or chrome. i deleted the files immediately and now no issues at all.

Thanks for the app guys (5/5 best app)

Can be completely disabled, therefore 5 stars

Unlike most mac anti virus apps, you can actually completely disable this. What I mean by this is, not only disabling realtime protection, but completely quitting the app and ALL it’s processes as well as stopping it from starting up with your mac. This is a huge feature for those who work in realtime audio or video applications where resident anti virus apps can cause stutters. The fact of the matter is, if you are not inserting any foreign files on your mac, and you have disconnected from the net to work on your project, there is zero issue with disabling the anti virus completely until you need to go online again. It’s really quite simple, you just disable start at login and autopilot in preferences. Takes 5 seconds. I will also say, just disabling autopilot can be done with one click at any time, as well as re enabling it, right from the OSX menu bar. This will be sufficient for most users with enough ram, as keeping the app open but realtimeprotection disabled, does not seem to affect the CPU at all, and uses a few hundred megabytes of ram.

Now, about the actual app. It seems to really learn intelligently, to the point that a deep scan on my 2015 macbook pro with 700 GB of the 1000GB used, takes only 5 to 10 minutes. That’s impressive. It also doesn’t seem to be too intrusive when doing background scanning, although, it DOES sometimes interfere with installations and make them take much longer to complete, so be aware of that. It’s extremely simple to use, so another plus there. What i don’t like, is that every time the computer starts, if the app is set to start with it, instead of quietly starting in the background, it opens it’s user interface and the actual main app itself when the mac starts, and needs to be closed. Annoying. Furthermore, every single time you use the menu bar to enable or disable the autopilot, once again the app itself opens and needs to be closed again. I have NO idea why it does this, and something that has bothered me for years since I first used the app. I have suggested to Bit Defender to just allow one click enable/disable from menu bar without force opening the app itself, to no avail.

Overall, I do highly recommend it, as macs are not immune to ransomware or viruses, contrary to popular belief, but furthermore, you can stop yourself passing viruses through emails to windows users. I tried all the mac anti virus apps, and this is the least intrusive, and the cheapest one that allows complete disabling. Therefore, despite the niggles mentioned, a thumbs up from me.
