Ratings and Reviews
No better source for accurate Aussie weather
My go to weather app since I bought the first iPhone recently withdrew from the market leaving me somewhat lost and concerned as it was the only weather app that sourced from the Australian BOM.
Most apps are so grossly inaccurate it’s almost laughable - even Australian made apps put out by local media conglomerates.
I was delighted to discover the BOM has its own app and it provides all of the information I cared about in the now defunct app. The UI is basic, but not as bad as another reviewer here makes out. Sure there are things missing but we can encourage the developer - when all is said and done I am very happy that I have found another app - that didn’t cost anything - which provides accurate information about where I am at the time. I have been testing it against the defunct app which is still running in a wind down period and in fact the BOM app has been more up to the minute accurate. All my concerns have now gone.
If you previously used Pocket Weather Au and have some angst about access to accurate weather - download this app and fear no more. I’m so satisfied with this app I have now ditched Pocket Weather completely.
Accurate but boring user interface
I am a person that checks the weather app everyday. I recently moved from an app that shut down. The app used to perilously source data from BOM and the user interface (UI) was awesomen!
I downloaded BOM as I realised there would be no issues with getting accurate weather as it is the main source in Australia. The UI of the app is extremely boring and I don’t feel like checking the app at all. Also, it doesn’t track and display the weather for the current suburb. I have to manually click it every time I move from one place to another.
Feedback to the developers - I would suggest you review the overall design and the UI to make the app easy and fun to navigate. Maybe charge a one time fee but give us a great app as your weather data is already fantastic!
This app doesn't work
I'd luv to say this was a great app but it doesn't work at all. Like some reviewers below have said whenever you try to do anything with it an error message pops up to say "There was a problem loading the weather. Your device is online but cannot fetch data from the Bureau at this time". If you tap the postcode field (if you're lucky enough to get the front page of the app to load) then an error message pops up before you can even type in the postcode. The app was updated recently but the all that was updated was a new looking error message! I've had the same problem with the app when in Australia or overseas. I've contacted the developer and had no reply. Please fix this app because I'd really like to support it but for now I'll stick with Willy Weather.
