What's New

Version 3.0.2

Turns out golf buggies are just as useless as app buggies so we’ve left the golf course and swapping all the buggies for budgies instead. Much more adorable.

Here’s what these magnificent birds will bring:
Ingredients in list view, *cough* Uber Eats ripoff *cough*
Blends are now available
No more annoying asks to rate the app right away
Easier to find stores using the handy search feature that screams “SEARCH FOR STORES HERE” because apparently a magnifying glass doesn’t cut it anymore.
Now displaying 5 closest stores as opposed to 3 - yay, choice!
News block gets refreshed with new news
Need to login before entering competitions so no more hiding behind that screen
We also sent the app to our old English teacher and all typos should now be fuxed.

New version

The new version of boost takes a few steps forward in terms of bug fixing (finally fixing the logout issue is great!) and a number of steps backwards in terms of UX. As a developer I get it, UX is hard. But the new interface is confusing and loses out on features that I actually liked. For example, we lose categorisation of drinks and new/popular tags which was actually kind of nice. The new pictures just show the top of the smoothie which really doesn’t help when I want to know the ingredients at a glance. The old app made the selection much more obvious at a glance although the search is nice. Next, the gestures are confusing - the flow throughout the app is inconsistent and confusing in terms of gestures like moving from swipe to tap to swipe between different screens. The layout is confusing and the green branding was replaced by a generic white background and hard to read font. The store finder is barely usable if you actually wanted to find a store that wasn’t the closest. Why is there even a separation between drinks and smoothies? Why is there a bitcoin price tracker of all things built in as a contest? Why is the copy sickeningly sweet and ‘funny’? It’s a good attempt to try and revamp the app but it got worse in a lot of ways in my opinion. Sure, maybe I am being a bit bit picky like meg from Melbourne (I wonder if she’s happy with being called out like that!) but why settle for such an obvious downgrade in UX?

Great! New Boost!!!

So far, I’m very pleased to see iPhone X support finally, upon launching this new update (ver 3.0) and secondly so glad to see the red dot notification bugs squeezed out from long ago (that’s carried across many updates) from those $5 Tuesday days, good riddance!

This new version has a fresh and clean look about it and is smooth, some new feature additions that I’ve not seen before, like adding a credit/debit card for online ordering, but maybe has room for further improvements by adding PayPal as a payment method for the Vibe Cash Pre-Pay feature, and the ability to add more then one debit/credit card to your profile but over all I’m impressed, so far!
Great job!!

Unprofessional

With the latest update I won’t even bother installing. You know why? Because this company in order to be “cool” published incredibly disrespectful release notes “hitting back” customers who left negative feedback. Regardless of who left the feedback and the content of it, a company with a more professional posture would just release updates and not mention names and location of customers who left the “bad feedback”. AND, even more serious, wouldn’t use sexual connotation making “fun” of any issue. For this reason, I am removing this app from my phone. I am not a customer anymore and many people I know are doing the same. I wonder if Janine Allis approves this kind of approach which basically implies what the company is.
